Terms of Use
These Terms govern access to BuildMyCV, including the CV builder, templates, export tools, articles, and supporting resources. By using the service, a visitor agrees to use it lawfully and accepts responsibility for the content placed in a CV.
This content reflects the current BuildMyCV product but should receive jurisdiction-specific legal review before commercial publication.
Service description and eligibility
BuildMyCV provides browser-based tools for drafting, formatting, previewing, exporting, and printing a CV. It does not create an employment relationship, submit applications, act as a recruitment agency, or provide legal advice.
A person must be legally able to agree to these Terms in their location. A parent, guardian, school, or employer authorizing use for another person is responsible for ensuring that use is appropriate and lawful.
Permitted use
Users may create and export CVs for themselves or for another person who has clearly authorized the work. BuildMyCV may not be used to impersonate someone, fabricate credentials, distribute malware, probe security, overload the service, scrape content at scale, or violate intellectual-property, privacy, anti-discrimination, or employment laws.
- Provide accurate information the user is entitled to disclose.
- Review every sample phrase before relying on it.
- Keep local drafts and exports secure on shared devices.
- Follow each employer’s application and file-format instructions.
User content and responsibility
Users retain rights in their original CV content. They grant no server-hosting licence merely by typing in the local builder because the core draft is not intentionally uploaded. If content is sent through support email, the sender permits its use only as necessary to answer the request.
The user is solely responsible for truthfulness, relevance, dates, links, permissions, and legal suitability. Sample data is fictional and must not be submitted as personal history.
Templates, articles, and intellectual property
The BuildMyCV interface, brand, templates, graphics, article text, and software are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Users may not sell unmodified templates as a competing library, republish articles as their own, remove notices, or reverse engineer protected parts except where law permits.
Third-party names and references are descriptive, remain the property of their owners, and do not imply endorsement.
No guarantee of ATS results or employment
Applicant tracking systems differ by vendor, employer configuration, language, file type, and workflow. ATS-friendly describes conventional headings, selectable text, and readable order; it does not mean universal parsing or a guaranteed score.
BuildMyCV does not guarantee interviews, offers, salary outcomes, employer responses, legal compliance in every location, or acceptance of a file. Users should follow vacancy instructions and seek professional advice when consequences are significant.
Availability, changes, and local data
The service may change, be suspended, or be discontinued for maintenance, security, legal, or product reasons. Features differ across browsers and print systems. Users should export important drafts because local browser storage can be cleared by the user, browser, device administrator, or privacy software.
BuildMyCV may update these Terms when the service or law changes. Continued use after an effective update indicates acceptance where permitted; otherwise, the user should stop using the service.
Disclaimers and liability framework
The service is provided on an as-available basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator disclaims implied warranties that are not expressly stated. Nothing excludes a right or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Before launch, the owner must obtain jurisdiction-specific advice and add an appropriate limitation of liability, indemnity language, governing law, dispute process, consumer-rights disclosures, and complete legal identity. The separate Disclaimer adds context but does not override mandatory law.
Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent to Support@buildmycv.live. Do not include a complete CV or sensitive identifiers. The final operator should add a service address and legally required notices before public commercial operation.
