Disclaimer
BuildMyCV provides self-service CV creation and educational information. This Disclaimer explains the limits of that assistance so job seekers can make informed decisions and avoid unsupported expectations.
This content reflects the current BuildMyCV product but should receive jurisdiction-specific legal review before commercial publication.
No employment or interview guarantee
A CV is one part of an application. Hiring decisions may consider experience, qualifications, work authorization, location, assessments, references, timing, competition, and internal candidates. Using a template, keyword, article, or export feature cannot guarantee an interview, offer, response, salary, or career outcome.
Statements about clarity, professionalism, or ATS-conscious formatting describe design goals rather than promised results. Users should be cautious of any service claiming a universally successful resume.
No universal ATS compatibility
Applicant tracking systems vary and employers configure them differently. Parsing can depend on language, file format, document structure, browser printing, and later employer changes. BuildMyCV uses selectable text and familiar headings, but cannot test every system or certify a universal ATS score.
Always follow the employer’s file requirements. If a portal requests DOCX, plain text, a specific template, or manual entry, that instruction takes priority over general advice.
Educational information, not professional advice
Articles and examples are general educational materials. They are not legal, immigration, tax, financial, medical, academic, recruitment, or individualized career advice. Employment law and accepted CV practices differ across countries, sectors, professions, and seniority.
Users facing regulated applications, licensing, security clearance, visas, discrimination concerns, or complex employment history should consult an appropriately qualified adviser.
Accuracy and editorial method
The BuildMyCV Editorial Team aims to use clear language, realistic examples, conventional recruitment practices, and transparent limitations. Content is reviewed for internal consistency and updated dates are displayed. Information can still become outdated, contain an error, or be unsuitable for a particular vacancy.
Users should compare guidance with the vacancy notice, employer career site, professional body, and current local rules. Corrections can be suggested through the contact page.
User responsibility for CV claims
Users must verify names, dates, job titles, qualifications, metrics, links, and statements before applying. Example achievements illustrate structure and must never be copied as facts unless true for the applicant.
BuildMyCV does not verify identity or credentials. Users must obtain permission before naming confidential clients, publishing employer information, using another person’s photograph, or including confidential material.
Photographs and local hiring practices
Photo-enabled templates make portraits optional, not recommended for every application. In some locations a photograph is customary; in others it may be discouraged because it exposes protected characteristics or conflicts with employer instructions. Research practice relevant to the role and country.
Photo processing is local, but users remain responsible for rights in the image and for securing the device and exported files.
External links and third-party services
BuildMyCV may link to employers, standards, browsers, email applications, or other resources. External content, security, privacy, availability, and policies are controlled by those providers. A link is not an endorsement or guarantee.
Printing and PDF behavior depend partly on the browser and operating system. Open the exported file, test links, inspect page breaks, and keep a backup before applying.
